Piece of Cake: Merge and Bake Beginner Guide

This guide walks you through your first sessions in Piece of Cake: Merge and Bake, the merge puzzle game by HG POINT LTD. You can play the game on our home page.

1. The story setup

You help Emily restore her family's rundown cafe. When you first see it, the place is wrecked: broken floor tiles, a smashed glass counter and signs hanging off the walls. Every renovation you buy makes the cafe look better and unlocks the next part of the story, including reunions such as Emily meeting Aunt Mei.

2. Your first merges

Click the toast pan to make toast. Drag one toast onto another to merge them into toast with a sunny-side-up egg. Keep combining matching items to climb the chain toward items like salami and sandwiches. Every merge frees a square on the board.

3. Filling orders

Customer portraits appear beside the board, each with the item they want. When you have that item, serve it to complete the order and collect money. Special customer orders give extra rewards.

4. Board space

At the start, much of the board is covered by boxed tiles, so you have little room. Merge often and avoid producing items you don't need yet; as you play, more of the board opens up.

5. Renovating

Spend your earnings on renovations in the cafe and, later, other locations around town. Each one reveals more of the hidden family story and unlocks new areas with harder puzzles.

6. Extras

Check daily missions for prizes, and use boosters when you need to speed up merging, orders or upgrades.
